The PADI Rescue Diver Course is often described by divers as the course that transformed the way they dive.
While previous courses focus primarily on your own skills and safety, the Rescue Diver Course teaches you to look beyond yourself and become more aware of the divers around you. You'll learn to identify potential issues before they develop into emergencies and gain the confidence to take appropriate action when assistance is required.
Through a combination of knowledge development, practical skill sessions and realistic rescue scenarios, you'll learn how to prevent accidents, manage emergencies and assist other divers both on the surface and underwater.
The course is challenging, engaging and incredibly rewarding, providing skills that will benefit you throughout your diving career.
During the course you'll learn:
Self-rescue techniques
Recognising and managing diver stress
Emergency management and accident prevention
Assisting tired or distressed divers
Responding to panicked divers
Conducting underwater search patterns
Missing diver procedures
Surfacing and recovering unresponsive divers
Rescue breathing techniques
Emergency action planning
Managing real-world rescue scenarios
The Rescue Diver Course combines serious learning with enjoyable and realistic training exercises that challenge you to think, react and work effectively as part of a team.
Many divers find that completing the Rescue Diver Course dramatically improves their confidence, situational awareness and overall diving ability. It is also a key prerequisite for progressing towards professional-level training such as PADI Divemaster.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn the internationally recognised PADI Rescue Diver certification, one of the most respected and valuable qualifications in recreational scuba diving.
Whether your goal is to become a more capable buddy, increase your confidence underwater or take the next step towards professional diving, the PADI Rescue Diver Course is an essential part of your diving journey.
