The PADI Night Diver Specialty Course opens the door to a completely different underwater world, transforming familiar dive sites into exciting new environments full of unique sights and experiences.
As darkness falls, many marine species emerge from their daytime hiding places while others begin their nightly hunting and feeding routines. Colours appear more vivid in the beam of your torch, and even dive sites you've visited many times before can feel completely different after sunset.
The PADI Night Diver Specialty Course teaches you the skills and confidence needed to safely plan and conduct night dives while enjoying the unique atmosphere that only diving after dark can provide.
Under the guidance of an experienced PADI Instructor, you'll learn how to prepare for night dives, use underwater lights effectively and communicate with your buddy in low-light conditions.
During the course you'll learn:
Night dive planning and preparation
Torch selection and management
Underwater light communication signals
Navigation in low visibility conditions
Buddy procedures for night diving
Entry and exit techniques after dark
Managing equipment and task loading
Marine life observation techniques
Safety procedures for night diving
Emergency considerations and contingency planning
Throughout the course you'll complete three open water night dives while developing the confidence and awareness needed to enjoy night diving safely and comfortably.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn the internationally recognised PADI Night Diver Specialty certification, allowing you to confidently participate in night diving adventures around the world.
Whether you're exploring local UK dive sites, tropical reefs abroad or embarking on a liveaboard adventure, the Night Diver Specialty Course will add a completely new dimension to your diving experiences.
Many divers discover that night diving becomes one of their favourite types of diving, offering encounters and experiences that simply aren't possible during the day.
